What is the difference between a cookout and a bbq?
Answer
Well, I was hoping an American reader would answer my question. Alas, no one offered, so I had to find out myself! A cookout refers to any occasion where food is cooked outdoors, whereas a bbq implies that the food will be cooked over a flame grill. Hence, a barbeque is also a cookout, but a cookout is not necessarily a barbeque (if, I suppose, you are cooking with an outdoors electrical appliance or gas burner). Hooray!

Back in 1992, AC Milan became the first football I really supported (having grown up an Arsenal fan in the isolated south). I’ll be hoping for a Milan victory tonight! Unlike a certain Myles Palmer who has lost his head lately.
Half Time Update
Ha! Here’s a comment left by a Man U fan on the BBC website at half time:
“We need to throw the kitchen sink at them, they’ll not like it.”

Well there’s a shocker! Frankly, I wouldn’t like it if anyone threw a kitchen sink at me. I’m not sure that’s football though and I’m fairly certain it would be against the rules.

On Saturday my site became the victim of a Phishing Infiltration. Some unscrupulous vagrants used the user uploads function of my COppermine Gallery installation to upload a malicious re-direct file. The issue was quickly brought to my attention (from various sources) and dealt with promptly. Fortunately the redirect was on a part of my site that is never visited (according to Google) and should easily have been spotted by Firefox (you are using Firefox, right?).
As a result I have had to delete my Coppermine installation - in fairness it had fallen into disrepair, which is why the attack was able to take place. After almost 12 months of exclusive Flickr use, I doubt anyone will notice or care. I am sad to see it go, but these days hosting and managing your own website is becoming an ever more tasking endeavor.
